Jumlah tangkapan ikan semakin sedikit.

Isna pun mempunyai ide.

Isna senang sekali.

A Promise for Thousand Mangroves was a story of a girl living in fisherman village. Her name was Isna. She was sad because she lost her friends one by one. Her friends had gone out from the village. There were no sufficient working fields in fisherman village where most the residents were the fishermen. Most of them got out of the village for looking other jobs. They left the village with their family.

The amount of the fish was lessened gradually in case of polluted environments by the garbage and the running out mangrove trees. Lots of outsiders went in the village and cut the mangrove trees. The cut woods then were sent out from the village.

Isna was unhappy to see it. She lost her friends and lost the sustainability of her environment. She remembered the promise that she made with her friends to buy mangrove seeds and plant them in the village.

Finally, Isna came out with an idea. It was impossible to buy mangrove seeds with her barely enough pocket money so that she initiated to have another way. She would sing on the street but only take garbage such as used bottles as the payment. The garbage then would be sold to reseller.

One day, she sang in the middle of the town park. There, she met an old man. The old man was about to give her money but Isna declined. She just wanted to be paid with the garbage. Hence, the old man took Isna to his house. Isna saw a lot of plastic bottles in the house. Isna was so excited.

The old man asked her why she wanted to be paid with garbage. Isna told him that she had promised herself to buy mangrove seeds. Afterward, Isna went back to her village heartily.

Next to few days, Isna and all the residents were shocked. There were many boats pulling in at the shore. The boats loaded mangrove seeds. A person from the boat looked for Isna. After seeing Isna, he gave her a letter. It turned out to be a letter from the old man gave her lots of bottle garbages. The old man felt compassion for Isna’s promise. His heart was moved to make it true.
